Midlife Crisis

I fear the edges are wearing down
The corners are slowly rounding off
Now is not the time to pause
Now is not the time to rest
The tears form like hidden pearls
Sheathed as swords thirsting blood
Now is not the time to sleep
Now is not the time to reap
The flame is dying the flame is bright
The dream still slinks away at night
Now is not the time to forget
Now is not the time to fret
When yet remains a thought to think
A hope so slight the weakest right
Now is the time to search inside
And find The Truth you've sought to hide
Now is the time for one last breath
And live beyond the daily death
