A Materialistic Sermon

The best things in life come free,
But without a guarantee.
I wouldn’t complain
If they hadn’t again
Screwed up my destiny!

Once, they came along
In the guise of a popular song
On life and love and such –
Maddened me a touch:
A lesson learnt all wrong.

And thus here we lie –
The best things and I –
In an 8 by 4 cell:
Lots of time to dwell
On how life passed me by.

It is always those best things that you cheer and grieve on. They bring meaning to our lives and make it worth living and caring.
